I was very privileged to be the first test-pilot of the Delaurier/Harris/UTIAS ornithopter C-GPTR from the summer of 1995 until August 10 2001 and carried out all the prototype testing including the first lift-offs and a maximum speed of 56mph.

AUGUST 2001 UPDATE I resigned as test-pilot of the UTIAS ornithopter in August 2001 after 7 very interesting and distinctly 'lively' years and am now devoting myself full-time to developing an ornithopter of my own design ['Nightingale']
NIGHTINGALE FULL-SIZE PILOTED ORNITHOPTER As Nightingale progresses, details that aren't covered elsewhere on my website will be posted here
FEB 10 2005 UPDATE The full-size, 32 foot wingspan, piloted Nightingale has evolved considerably during the last 4 years and is now an extremely lightweight 4 winger.Flight testing will start in the Spring.   Testing of the 8 feet wingspan proof-of-concept RC test model [see model photo's below ] has ended and all efforts are now being concentrated on the full-size, piloted Nightingale.
